Evolving Your Jiu-Jitsu with Marcio Feitosa

Gracie Barra Online is releasing a new GB3 in the Gi curriculum by Professor Marcio Feitosa. In this curriculum, Professor Marcio uses his years of experience and knowledge of Jiu-Jitsu to teach a well-thought-out and relevant set of techniques to bring your Jiu-Jitsu to the next level. Releasing this May.

Professor Feitosa has had a tremendous impact on Gracie Barra. He has been by Master Carlos Gracie Jr.'s side since very early in the history of GB. Professor Marcio has had the opportunity to learn and observe our Founder as Jiu-Jitsu has evolved. You are sure to be inspired by his experience as one of the top accomplished athletes in Jiu-Jitsu and as a leading contributor to the continued growth of Gracie Barra.

In addition to being involved in the GB organization, Professor Marcio is an accomplished competitor. In 2013, Feitosa was ranked one of the Top 10 fighters by BJJ Heroes. As an athlete throughout his career, he has collected many competition titles such as 3x IBJJF World Champion (1997, 2001, 2002), 6x Pan-American Champion (1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2005, and 2007 - no-gi), and ADCC Submission Wrestling World Champion (2001).

Professor Marcio is a 6th-degree Black Belt who began training with Master Carlos Gracie Jr. in 1988. Feitosa was born in Rio de Janeiro and raised in Barra da Tijuca. He began studying Jiu-Jitsu at the original school when he was 12 years old. Interesting fact: he still owns the apartment across the street from that school! At 15, Feitosa started teaching Jiu-Jitsu and has never stopped.

After teaching in Brazil, Professor Marcio was selected by Master Carlos Gracie Jr. to be a key contributor to the overall development of GB. One of the projects Professor Marcio is most proud of is helping develop the Gracie Barra Method of teaching Jiu-Jitsu.

When Master Carlos decided to come to the United States, Professor Marcio was selected to be the head instructor of Gracie Barra Headquarters in Irvine, California, upon its opening in 2005. During his ten years at GBHQ, he was involved in many projects. He launched the first CompNet, was a significant contributor to the development of the ICP, and developed the first recorded GB curriculum for DVD (now known as GB1 and GB2 curriculum sets).

The new GB3 Curriculum will be available through our subscription.
